In addition to the author’s maps and narrative charting Indonesian history, the Digital Atlas also offers extra material to its users made possible by digital technology. This material comprises:
- Printable base maps of Indonesia and Southeast Asia that users may freely adapt for their own use.
- Scanned images from the 10th edition of W. van Gelder’s Schoolatlas van Nederlandsch Oost-Indië.
- A directory of stable internet links to historical maps of the Indonesian archipelago available online.
As well as these images, we are pleased to publish an interview with Robert Cribb, in which he offers his thoughts and experience on map-making and the wider issue of illuminating scholarly prose with maps.
At some future date, it is conceivable that updates to this material (or even new extra material) will be added to this website. If so, these will be noted here.
